You might have complained about the lingering mildew odor with the property manager before; however, if to no avail, then it is high time for you to move out and look for better options. On that note, while looking for a new apartment, make sure to address any issue, such as pet, smoke, or mildew smell, before moving in, as it is your landlord’s responsibility to address your concerns and take care of the problem before having you move in. Nonetheless, if the landlord ignores your complaints, don’t sign the lease and find yourself a new apartment.
